언어 습득 이론의 통합적 분석: 행동주의에서 사회문화적 접근까지

본 연구는 언어 습득 과정과 그 기저에 놓인 심리적 기제를 설명하는 주요 이론들을 체계적으로 분석한다. 스키너의 학습 이론, 반두라의 모방 이론, 비고츠키와 루리아의 인지 이론, 촘스키와 렌네버그의 생득 기제 이론을 검토함으로써 각 이론의 기여와 한계를 파악한다. 특히 본 연구는 현대 언어 습득 연구의 동향으로 나타나는 통합적 관점을 강조한다. 환경과 강화, 모방과 사회적 모형화, 인지 발달, 생득적 능력 등의 요인이 상호작용하는 과정으로 언어 습득을 이해하는 것이 보다 현실적이고 역동적인 설명을 제공함을 보여준다. 특히 비고츠키의 사회문화적 관점을 바탕으로 언어 습득을 사회적 상호작용 속에서 인지적·생물학적 잠재력이 실현되는 과정으로 재개념화하는 최근의 경향을 조명한다. 이러한 통합적 접근은 언어교육과 아동 발달 연구에 중요한 함의를 제공한다.

This study systematically analyzes major theories explaining language acquisition processes and underlying psychological mechanisms. By examining Skinner's learning theory, Bandura's imitation theory, Vygotsky and Luria's cognitive theory, and Chomsky and Lenneberg's innate mechanism theory, the research identifies contributions and limitations of each approach. Particularly, this study emphasizes the integrative perspective emerging as a contemporary trend in language acquisition research. It demonstrates that understanding language acquisition as an interaction of environmental reinforcement, imitation and social modeling, cognitive development, and innate abilities provides more realistic and dynamic explanations. The study highlights recent trends in reconceptualizing language acquisition as a process in which cognitive and biological potentials are realized within social interaction, based on Vygotsky's sociocultural perspective. This integrative approach offers important implications for language education and child development research.
