팬데믹 호황의 종말: 한국 골프산업의 구조적 전환과 중장기 전망

본 연구는 팬데믹 특수 종료 이후 한국 골프산업이 직면한 구조적 위기를 체계적으로 분석한다. 2020년 이후 유례없는 호황을 누렸던 한국 골프산업은 2023년을 정점으로 2024년부터 이용객 감소와 영업이익 악화를 경험하고 있다. 본 연구는 한국골프산업백서 2024, 한국골프장경영협회 통계, 야놀자리서치 등의 신뢰할 수 있는 데이터를 바탕으로 현재의 시장 규모, 필드골프와 스크린골프의 양극화, 골프장 운영 수익성 악화, MZ세대의 신규진입과 이탈의 이중 구조, 인구고령화와 경제저성장에 따른 수요 기반 축소를 분석한다. 또한 일본 골프산업의 구조적 침체 사례와의 비교를 통해 한국 골프산업의 미래 시나리오를 제시한다. 연구 결과, 한국 골프산업은 '구조적 축소기 진입'의 단계에 있으며, 공급 구조 조정, 가격 정책 재설정, 수익 구조 다변화, 해외 시장 개척, 청년층 참여 확대 등의 적응 전략이 필수적임을 제시한다.

This study systematically analyzes the structural crisis facing the Korean golf industry following the end of the pandemic boom. After experiencing unprecedented prosperity since 2020, the Korean golf industry has faced declining visitors and deteriorating operating profits since 2024, with 2023 marking its peak. Based on reliable data from the Korean Golf Industry White Paper 2024, the Korea Golf Course Management Association statistics, and Yanolja Research, this study analyzes current market size, polarization between field golf and screen golf, deteriorating golf course operating profitability, the dual structure of MZ generation entry and exit, and shrinking demand base due to population aging and economic slowdown. Through comparative analysis with Japan's structural golf industry decline, future scenarios for the Korean golf industry are presented. The research indicates that the Korean golf industry is entering a 'structural contraction phase,' and adaptive strategies including supply structure adjustment, price policy reset, revenue structure diversification, overseas market development, and expanded youth participation are essential.
