한류 콘텐츠의 제3국 재생산이 한국어 학습 동기에 미치는 영향: 케이팝 데몬 헌터스를 중심으로

본 연구는 한류 콘텐츠가 제3국의 문화적 맥락 속에서 어떻게 재생산되며, 그 재맥락화 과정이 외국인 학습자의 한국어 학습 동기에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 특히 넷플릭스의 K-pop 기반 애니메이션 〈케이팝 데몬 헌터스〉를 사례로 하여 시청각적 구성, 서사 구조, 한국적 요소를 분석하고, 가상 인터뷰를 통해 외국인 학습자의 학습 동기 변화를 탐색하였다. 연구 결과, 한류 콘텐츠는 감정적 몰입과 공감을 통해 학습자의 정의적 동기를 촉진하는 문화적 학습 매개체로 기능하며, 팬덤 중심의 참여형 학습 환경을 창조함을 확인하였다. 음악, 영상, 그리고 '정(情)'이라는 감정적 서사는 한국어를 '느끼는 경험'으로 전환시키며, 이는 기존의 인지적 학습 방식과 구별되는 감정 중심의 언어 습득 과정을 보여준다. 본 연구는 한류가 단순한 대중문화 현상을 넘어 언어 학습의 촉매이자 감정의 언어로 작동하는 과정을 실증적으로 규명하였다.

This study examines how Korean Wave content is reproduced in third-country cultural contexts and how this recontextualization process influences foreign learners' motivation to learn Korean. Using Netflix's K-pop-based animation 'K-pop Demon Hunters' as a case study, this research analyzes audiovisual composition, narrative structure, and Korean cultural elements, while exploring changes in learning motivation through hypothetical interviews with foreign learners. The findings reveal that Korean Wave content functions as a cultural learning medium that promotes affective motivation through emotional immersion and empathy, creating a participatory learning environment centered on fandom. Music, visuals, and emotional narrative of 'jeong' (정) transform Korean language into an 'experience of feeling,' demonstrating an emotion-centered language acquisition process distinct from traditional cognitive learning approaches. This study empirically demonstrates that the Korean Wave operates beyond a mere popular culture phenomenon, functioning as a catalyst for language learning and a language of emotion.
