This paper presents a homiletical analysis of Judges 19:1-10, examining the account of the Levite and his father-in-law through the lens of spiritual insensitivity and fatal procrastination in an era devoid of covenantal governance. Although the text appears to depict warm domestic reconciliation and lavish hospitality, it actually contains three-fold spiritual crises: the secularization of religious leadership that has lost holiness, the paralysis of spiritual discernment intoxicated by daily comfort, and a reckless departure at a perilous hour. Through philological analysis, examination of interpretive traditions (Church Fathers, Jewish Rabbis, modern evangelical scholars), and literary structural analysis, this study identifies the theological tension of the text and proposes core themes and application methods for pulpit preaching. In particular, by connecting the total spiritual anarchy of 'the time when there was no king' with the necessity of Christ as the true King within redemptive history, this paper suggests homiletical directions that convey both evangelical warning and hope regarding the spiritual lethargy and procrastination in obedience among contemporary believers.
